Volume Two and Three Monitored Recommendation hearings commence

From Monday 5 June 2023 – Wednesday 7 June 2023, the Inquiry will hear evidence regarding recommendations made in the Volume Two and Three reports which the Chairman proposed to monitor. You can find which Volume Two recommendations are being monitored here and which Volume Three recommendations are being monitored here (designated [MRXX]).

Volume Three report

On Thursday 2nd March 2023 at 2pm, the Manchester Arena Inquiry will publish Volume Three of its report detailing the Chairman’s findings and recommendations on radicalisation and preventability.

The report will consider the evidence hearing by the Chairman during the oral hearings on the radicalisation of Salman Abedi, the planning and preparation of the attack and whether the attack could have been prevented.

Volume Two: Emergency Response

The Chairman of the Manchester Arena Inquiry has published Volume Two of his report into the death of the 22 victims of the attack on 22nd May 2017. This report, Volume Two: Emergency Response, is the second of three and examines the emergency response following the attack at the Manchester Arena. The report is available here.

Volume Two report

On Thursday 3rd November 2022 at 2.30pm, the Manchester Arena Inquiry will publish Volume Two of its report detailing the Chairman’s findings and recommendations on the emergency response to the attack.

The report will consider the evidence heard by the Chairman during the oral hearings on the preparedness of each emergency service to respond to a marauding terrorist firearms attack and the events on 22nd May 2017 after the explosion, in particular the emergency response and the experience of each deceased person.

The Inquiry is currently hearing Chapter 13 evidence covering the background and radicalisation of Salman Abedi.

No YouTube livestream 1-3 December 2021

From Wednesday 1 December to Friday 3 December 2021, the Inquiry will hear expert medical evidence regarding Saffie-Rose Roussos, including the cause and mechanism of her death and addressing the question of whether or not her injuries may have been survivable with earlier medical intervention.

Due to the sensitive nature of this evidence, it will not be livestreamed on the Inquiry’s YouTube channel. The transcript of the daily evidence will be released on the Inquiry’s website in the usual way.
