Paul Greaney QC

Paul Greaney QC is Counsel to the Manchester Arena Inquiry. He practises from New Park Court in Leeds, where he specialises in serious crime, inquests, public inquiries and regulatory law. Paul has been involved a number of high profile inquests, public inquiries and trials in recent years including the Hillsborough Inquests, the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, the Deepcut Inquest and Football Association disciplinary proceedings relating to, among other players Luis Suarez and Nicolas Anelka. He has prosecuted a substantial number of terrorism cases and has defended in many high profile cases.

Sophie Cartwright QC

Sophie Cartwright QC was called to the Bar in 1998. She practises from Deans Court Chambers, Manchester and specialises in inquests, public inquiries, public law, regulatory and disciplinary proceedings. Sophie previously served as Counsel to the Anthony Grainger Inquiry.  Sophie also sits as a Recorder in the Crown Court on the Northern Circuit and as an Assistant Coroner. 

Jesse Nicholls

Jesse Nicholls is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers in London, specialising in inquests and inquiries law, public law, and human rights and civil liberties cases. He has extensive experience acting in a range of inquest proceedings and public inquiries, including high profile and multiple fatality cases. He has acted for numerous bereaved families at the Hillsborough Inquests, represented the family of Sean Benton, who died at Deepcut Army Barracks, and acted for a number of bereaved family members and survivors at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. He is currently representing one of the central victim Core Participants in the Brook House Inquiry.

Alasdair Henderson

Alasdair Henderson is a barrister at 1 Crown Office Row in London. He has a broad practice with a particular interest in public law and human rights, and considerable experience of inquests and public inquiries. He acted as junior counsel to the Metropolitan Police in the Leveson Inquiry, represented a number of soldiers in the Al-Sweady Public Inquiry and also acted in the Litvinenko Inquiry. Most recently he was junior counsel to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, working on the Rochdale and Westminster investigations.

Nicholas de la Poer QC

Nick de la Poer Q.C. specialises in criminal law and regulatory work, practising at New Park Court Chambers in Leeds. He has been instructed in a significant number of cases involving crimes of homicide or in which fatalities have occurred. He is instructed in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry into the deaths of 72 people and attended the entirety of Phase 1. He has experience of acting for Interested Persons in Coronial proceedings, including when Article 2 is engaged.

Charlotte Godber

Charlotte Godber is a barrister at QEB Hollis Whiteman Chambers, specialising in criminal law and public law. Charlotte prosecutes and defends on a wide range of serious criminal cases. Charlotte’s public inquiry practice stretches back to the Iraq (Chilcot) Inquiry, which she worked on in her previous career in Central Government. More recently Charlotte has been instructed in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry into the deaths of 72 people.
