Chapter 10 and 12 Hearing (care gap evidence and recommendations), 12 January

The Inquiry is hearing Chapter 10 and 12 evidence covering care gap evidence and recommendations.

On 12 January, the Inquiry will hear from Mark Norris, Principal Policy Advisor for the Local Government Association, James Button President for the Institute of Learning, Matthew Twist, Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council, and Mark Hardingham, Chair of the National Fire Chiefs’ Council on the care gap and recommendations

Chapters 7, 10 and 12 Hearing (monitored recommendations; care gap evidence and recommendations), 11 January

The Inquiry is hearing Chapter 7 evidence covering Volume One monitored recommendations and Chapter 10 and 12 evidence covering care gap evidence and recommendations.

The Inquiry heard evidence from Shaun Hipgrave, Director of Protect and Prepare for the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism on Volume One monitored recommendations.

The Inquiry also heard evidence and recommendations relating to the care gap from John Lawrie, Intelligence Analyst and Political Consultant. Mr Lawrie’s evidence will will be heard in a restricted session. We will then hear from John Rowe, Acting Deputy Director of Operational Strategy for the Health and Safety Executive, and Shaun Hipgrave, who will return to give evidence on the care gap.

On 16 December, the Inquiry will hear submissions from counsel for Counter-Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ), counsel for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), counsel for Superintendent Mark Dexter and Chief Inspector Dale Sexton, counsel for British Transport Police (BTP), counsel for SMG, and counsel for Secretary of State for the Home Department (SSHD).

The Inquiry is hearing Chapter 13 evidence covering the background and radicalisation of Salman Abedi.

Chapter 12 Hearing, 3 December

The Inquiry is hearing Chapter 12 evidence covering the experience of each of the 22 victims.

On 3 December, the Inquiry will hear expert medical evidence regarding Saffie-Rose Roussos, including the cause and mechanism of her death and addressing the question of whether or not her injuries may have been survivable with earlier medical intervention.
