Inquiry Secretary
As Secretary to the Inquiry, Steve’s role is to report to the Chair and act as the main contact between the Inquiry and the Home Office. Steve works to and for the Inquiry and it is his job to assist the Inquiry in whatever way necessary to fulfil the terms of reference. For example, Secretaries to Inquiries may need to explain the workings of government and civil service procedures, rules and processes, as well as Ministerial accountability.
Steve is an experienced senior leader in the civil service and has worked in a variety of policy, financial and operational roles across the Home Office, MOD and HMRC.
Charlotte Phillips
Charlotte Phillips has been appointed as the Head of Communications and will manage the Inquiry’s press office. Charlotte has previously advised the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, the Infected Blood Inquiry, and the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings Inquests.
